Weekend treasures found: vintage crock-pot, vintage jeans, fast food toys unopened, and Albert the teaching robot

Vintage 1970's Rival Crock-Pot

One of my favorite vintage cooking wares is the Crock-Pot or slow cooker generically speaking. I remember growing up and having my mom or aunt make some delicious stew with them. So I was very happy to find one of the originals still in excellent condition and still working.

Vintage Levi black n gold and brown label jeans..."I think"?

So I have been on the hunt searching for those well sought after "red line" and big "E" Levi jeans pants. But so far they seem to be eluding me. However, in my searching, I may have come across other vintage Levi jeans. I am still trying to research the age of the jeans since they clearly do not have the distinguishable big "E" on them.

Fast Food toys mostly unopened

If you are into collecting fast food toys and unopened these might be for you. Most are based on some movie promotion. Like the McDonald's Doug's First Movie toys. Also I have some Finding Nemo which may have come from a cereal box. Also the Optimus Prime transformer mini figure which has been opened is in great condition. The little light on his right hand still lights up when you press the button.

These types of toys from the quick serve industry may become obsolete soon and these will be valuable collectible items quickly. Taco Bell announced today they will drop kid's meals from their menu along with the toys.

Vintage toy Albert The Teaching Robot by Ph. D. Toys

I do not recall seeing this game during my childhood years. I am wondering if it was just a regional toy or maybe it did not do so well on the marketing side. This is one of the most basic "robots" toys I have ever played. Obviously, this educational toy was a breakthrough during its time since it is labeled as a robot.
Basically, you insert the learning card onto the gold color surface and on back of the cards is the corresponding piece that when is pressed it sends a signal to the brain of this toy and it makes a BUZZ sound indicating you are correct.

I will try to get these listed on eBay and Etsy as soon as I can.

Bamboo accent sofa table and made in India animal masks

A while back I posted some made in India animal masks I found at a local estate sale and I thought they could be good gifts for Father's day. Well today I finally sold them and hopefully the new owner will made good use of them. Along with those was a bamboo soft accent table I picked up that same weekend at another local estate sale. So the Leopard, Giraffe masks and the table are sold. I was unable to find the elephant though which was part of my initial purchase. I am going to search for him today and hopefully he will turn up.

Vintage mid-century custom made wood bench with marble center

Vintage mid-century custom made wood bench with marble center

This is a very nice piece of vintage mid-century custom made bench I picked up at a local estate sale. Has not been used much by the previous owner and is currently being kept in my storage until I can find a good home for it. It also comes from a smoke-free home. There are no major and obvious defects or missing or replaced parts. Everything is original on it. The cushions still have the original staples in them as you can see a little bit of rust but the it is not ruined. Normal wear over time given the age of it but nothing broken on this vintage bench.

Inspirational poster frame of the World Trade Center Twin Towers and Statue of Liberty OPPORTUNITY Motivation

Opportunity!

Poster frame of Statue of Liberty with twin towers in background
Inspirational poster frame can be displayed in office or home.
This is something I have been holding onto for years after the place where I was employed shutdown and let us take home some office furniture and decor. This was one of the poster frames in the hallway to inspire and  motivate the employees. I started working at this particular call center (UICI Marketing) back in 2000 and before the September 11th terror attacks. I never thought about selling or giving it away but I think it is time for it to find a new home as I start down-sizing.

Summertime fun: Parcheesi, Seinfeld, Backgammon and Twilight 1000 Piece Jigsaw puzzle

What to do for some summer time fun?

Well it is officially summer time! Or depending on where you live "simmer time" because it can get so hot and muggy. These days it seems to me that kids have so much more at hand to entertain themselves during the summer. Such as: Xbox, Wii, and oh um-mm FACEBOOK. Seriously, though getting back down to the basics of fun I recall playing all sorts of board and strategy games with my friends and the recreation center or at the local Boys Club (formerly, but now it is Boys and Girls Club). The Stephanis Unit in Pompano Beach, Florida. Some of my favorites were Monopoly, Battleship, Stratego and of course the classic Checkers.
So I guess it is no surprise that over the past couple of weeks in my Treasure Coast treasure hunting, I have found some pretty good deals on board games and puzzles and local thrift stores and garage sales. These scores have been in great to excellent condition with a couple of them not even opened yet still new in the box.
