Three auctions on eBay starting at 99 cents for some cool vintage collectibles

This weekend  I am starting my three day 99 cent eBay auctions. Since eBay is promoting their list for free auction style and and it is getting closer to Christmas, I figure this should be a great time to off load some things I have had in my inventory for a while taking up space. I don't know if I will make any profit on these items since I paid more than a buck for each item. But hey it is Christmas time and maybe some lucky buyer can gift them to someone.

Treasures found during weekend garage sales on Treasure Coast

It has been a while since I have posted to my blog. This does not mean I have not found any treasures along the Treasure Coast of Florida.  But just like any great author, I have had a long writer's block. I figured I better post something fresh on here before Google decides to de-index this blog.

In the past couple of months, I have attended some nice Estate Sales and some very well put together garage sales. Here is a list of some of the good and interesting items I discovered.

Now normally I am looking for cool vintage or antique stuff. But at garage sales you may stumble on some things that are useful to a certain degree. That was the case with the E-Plate I found unopened at a local garage sale here on the Treasure Coast.  Makes for good passive advertising when driving around town. I have yet to install it though so right now it is not serving its intended purpose.

I found this next treasure at an estate sale that was run by the son or grandson. Hey I didn't ask but I knew from listening to him talk to the other patrons that he was a relative. The house was advertised as containing over 60 years worth of goodies and boy did it live up to the 60 years part. The first item here is a Sears Easi-Load Super 8 MM movie projector.  This was probably sold some where between the 1950's and 1960's.

Also found these unopened vintage fast food McDonald's toys.

These next set of Tonka emergency vehicle toys I found at a local moving sale. The person actually had more of  the Tonka and Hot Wheels cars but the Hot Wheels were gone by the time I showed up and the remaining cars were too much to pay for in my opinion.

Honorable mention: North Carolina Cherokee ashtray. I call this my honorable mention because it can never be sold or used again. I bought it dirt cheap at a local garage sale then put it away in my storage unit. Then one day I opened up the door and out comes tumbling down and breaking into many pieces was this ashtray. Oh well I guess that is a sign for me because I am not a user of tobacco products anyway. But this looked like a great collector's item and it was not even used.

I will post these on my eBay account in the upcoming days so please stay tuned if you are interested in obtaining any of them.

Congratulations to MLB World Series Champions the Boston Red Sox - David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez pictures

Growing up in my childhood I used to love watching this television show on Saturday mornings called The Baseball Bunch. It starred catcher Johnny Bench of the Cincinnati Reds (1967-1983), The San Diego Chicken and Tommy Lasorda as The Dugout Wizard. That was my official entry into learning about baseball and beginning to appreciate it and understand it while watching it. I was living in South Florida at the time we did not have a MLB team. So I am not much of a fan of the sport like I used to be when growing up as a child as I am more of a fan for the memorabilia such as these two picture and frames I stumbled upon at a garage sale.

Cleaning out my storage unit reminds me of Storage Wars on A&E network

I am currently in the process of cleaning up my storage unit and trying to #getridoftheclutter. I even went as far as checking out  the book Toss, Keep, Sell!: The Suddenly Frugal Guide to Cleaning Out the Clutter and Cashing In.One lesson I learned from having a unit for many years now is just don't throw things in it and on top of each other unorganized. So with this unit I divided it in half with one side pertaining to personal items and the other side with things I would sell or give away. To divide each side I put marble stone centered vintage wooden bench right down the middle.  This made it a little easier for me not "co-mingle" personal stuff like pictures, important document and clothes.

. Here is a list of some of the items I had buried in my storage unit that I will sell on treasure.craigslist.org:

Delta toddler bed and Baby Boom messenger diaper bag

Delta toddler bed and Baby Boom messenger diaper bag

I just posted a barely used Delta toddler bed and a barely used Baby Boom messenger diaper bag on Craigslist. The bed was barely used but it is in good condition. This is excellent for any family looking to save some money on a toddler bed and the child is ready to sleep on their own. Search "ihavetoselleverything" on treasure.craigslist.org for other items I have for sale if not posted on my blog.

Or search eBay for some toddler beds

I found this Baby Boom diaper bag at a moving away sale here on the Treasure Coast. The family just had a new born but the father found a job out of state and they had to move quickly. So to lighten the load they started selling everything they could to move quickly. I picked up some other items that I will list later.

Tick, Tock I sold my antique French clock

Tick, Tock sold my antique French clock on the Treasure Coast

A while back I bought an antique French made clock from estate sale I attended in Vero Beach, Florida. The person running the estate sale talked me into buying it by describing to me how unique an item it is and that she personally owned two of these types of clocks. So I went ahead and bought it.  After I inspected it a little she discounted the price on it I said what the heck!

After searching the Internet, this clock did not resemble the "castle clock" that I believed was described to me. No big deal I figured maybe I just misunderstood. But all I kept coming up with was carriage clocks and wall clocks that resembled what I had in my possession. I also did not find any that included mercury as part of the pendulum.

Finally, I decided to take it to a local clock repair shop, Clocks by Hollis (Facebook), and see what I really had on my hands. The owner Phillip explained it was a French made clock and that it was made of real brass. It was in pretty rough shape cosmetically speaking but he stated he could restore it back. He did advised that this clock fully restored could be valued for about $600. So selling it was a win-win situation for us both.

Vintage aluminum measuring spoons and a Brazil Cockatoo Figurine

Vintage aluminum measuring spoons and a Brazil Cockatoo Figurine

So last week I took a visit to one of my favorite thrift stores just to see what they had in stock by way of vintage clothing.  I am still on the hunt for those so-called big "E" and red lines Levi jeans. Why are they so hard to come by? And I am sure I just skipped right over some of the other vintage brand name jeans. But I digress. As usually, I make my way over to the other parts of the store and see if anything stands out at me. And that is when I found this interesting porcelain Cockatoo figurine. After searching on Google, I found some for sale and they are being dated 60's and 70's and this one looks comparable. I wish I could find the exact year and manufacturer.

These aluminum spoons remind me of the ones my mom used when I was a child. She used them when baking her famous cakes, pies and family recipes. They are in great condition with nothing broken, chipped or bent. There are some stains on them from over time naturally. On the top it reads U.S.STD. Which I am sure means United States Standard for measurements.

Weekend treasures found: vintage crock-pot, vintage jeans, fast food toys unopened, and Albert the teaching robot

Vintage 1970's Rival Crock-Pot

One of my favorite vintage cooking wares is the Crock-Pot or slow cooker generically speaking. I remember growing up and having my mom or aunt make some delicious stew with them. So I was very happy to find one of the originals still in excellent condition and still working.

Vintage Levi black n gold and brown label jeans..."I think"?

So I have been on the hunt searching for those well sought after "red line" and big "E" Levi jeans pants. But so far they seem to be eluding me. However, in my searching, I may have come across other vintage Levi jeans. I am still trying to research the age of the jeans since they clearly do not have the distinguishable big "E" on them.

Fast Food toys mostly unopened

If you are into collecting fast food toys and unopened these might be for you. Most are based on some movie promotion. Like the McDonald's Doug's First Movie toys. Also I have some Finding Nemo which may have come from a cereal box. Also the Optimus Prime transformer mini figure which has been opened is in great condition. The little light on his right hand still lights up when you press the button.

These types of toys from the quick serve industry may become obsolete soon and these will be valuable collectible items quickly. Taco Bell announced today they will drop kid's meals from their menu along with the toys.

Vintage toy Albert The Teaching Robot by Ph. D. Toys

I do not recall seeing this game during my childhood years. I am wondering if it was just a regional toy or maybe it did not do so well on the marketing side. This is one of the most basic "robots" toys I have ever played. Obviously, this educational toy was a breakthrough during its time since it is labeled as a robot.
Basically, you insert the learning card onto the gold color surface and on back of the cards is the corresponding piece that when is pressed it sends a signal to the brain of this toy and it makes a BUZZ sound indicating you are correct.
